Any music that does not directly target a religious audience is “secular music”. There are many secular songs that have theistic undertones and others are more blatant in their theistic views. Are there songs about Atheism, agnosticism, religious doubt, and ridicule? You bet there are!
A common misconception is that lyrics saying something negative about religion are only Punk, Heavy Metal, or Death Metal. As you will see from the music category, that is clearly not the case. For those theists that refuse to listen to secular music, it is too bad. Most of the music I listen to (New Wave, Futurepop, EBM, Synthpop, Progressive, Industrial, Postmodern, and Alternative) comes from artists with serious messages; and a few have some things they’d like to say about religion.
Band or artists in the music category are not necessarily Atheist. The bands and artists listed in the music category simply had something to say about religion in their lyrics and that is all that qualified them to be included. Their personal beliefs or lack thereof is none of my business.
